Rachel and Kevin were married outside at the Luthy Botanical Gardens in Peoria, Illinois.  It was a beautiful day and the gardens provided numerous locations for photography before the ceremony.  Outdoor and indoor photography of wedding ceremonies yield very different feels in wedding photography.  Outdoor images are brighter and often more colorful.  Photography inside an old cathedral can be lighter if there are numerous windows, but more often this photography yields darker, more moody images.  This is not a disadvantage but only a difference in the feel of the photos.  Time of day and time of year also affect the light sources that alter the feel of photographs.  I always shoot weddings with lenses that have a wide aperture, allowing the maximum amount of available light into the image.  This can create a substantial difference in the quality of images when compared with less expensive camera equipment.  Not all lenses are created equally.  I only use flash during the processional and recessional.  This is needed to stop the action of the couple walking up and down the isle.  Shooting with flash during the ceremony is distracting and therefore best avoided.
