Grooms often do not require the time to dress for the wedding that a bride does, but his preparations are equally important in telling the story of their day.  Brian’s wedding was in Chicago, away from home, so he and his groomsmen dressed at the hotel and we used the lobby for photography, which was beautiful.  When choosing locations for morning preparations, consider the decor, the sizes of the rooms, and the lighting.  Ample window light is the most valuable asset in my photography.  While I always carry lighting equipment to weddings, I prefer the effect of natural light on skin.  I find it to be most illuminating.
